About

Biography

Lizzie (she/her) is an Australian contemporary dance and film artist from lutruwita/Tasmania, currently based in London, UK. She specialises in directing dance films, capturing movement on screen and producing choreography for camera.

Lizzie graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance).

It was there that Lizzie’s passion for movement and film was realised, which encouraged her to explore and experiment within these two artforms. This led to the creation of her two short screen dance works, Checkmate and Chaos, baby, which was curated by the Ian Potter Museum of Art, as part of their online exhibition ‘Inside Out’ in 2020.

With a growing interest in cross-disciplinary performance and screen art, Lizzie’s practice focuses on using her knowledge of movement and choreography for camera and translating it into screen works.

Lizzie is the inaugural recipient of the Annie Greig Scholarship, funded by Arts Tasmania, supporting her to study the MA Screendance course at The London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) in 2024.
